[position filled] We are hiring a (part-time) developer for our MindfulPacer project!

We’re hiring a bachelor/master student in computer science, or recent graduate, who is interested in supporting us as a research developer in improving our existing MindfulPacer Android apps, and porting them to the Apple and/or Garmin world.

What is MindfulPacer?

A treatment for people suffering from Long Covid is yet to materialize. The only approach that has proven to be effective is for patients to manage their symptoms. In collaboration with the University Hospital Zurich and master project students, we developed an innovative smartwatch application and smartphone companion app that helps patients better manage their activities, and avoid overexertion and crashes. For that work, we were recently awarded with this year’s UZH Postdoc Team Award, as well as a follow-up research Outreach grant by the DIZH.

What will be your job?

As mentioned before, a prototype of the MindfulPacer app for Android exists (Android smartphone app and Android WearOS smartwatch app). We want to make some improvements and create new features to these apps, while at the same time port the app to the Apple platform (iPhone and Apple Watch), and possibly Garmin watches too. This would be your task.

Tell me more:

We’re looking for a talented and motivated master student in computer science studying at IFI UZH who has existing programming experience with mobile application development. You will have a lot of flexibility to work on this project on the side during your studies, or it could also be a great opportunity if you are finishing up your studies and are looking for a few months’ worth of work before starting a fixed position at a development company. Your work will be paid.
