Project/Thesis – Leverage the Busy Light, TimerBuzzer or Apple Vision Pro to support Knowledge Workers

HASEL is frequently working on innovative research projects that not only involve software, but also a hardware element. Most famously known is FlowLight, a solution to reduce workplace interruptions by visualizing workers’ availability for interactions in a traffic-light like system. Another example is using virtual reality headsets to support students or workers with blocking out distractions when using their computer or creating a flow-inducing environment.

We have a few new gadgets (that also have SDKs) to play with:

Hardware Features Potential Applications for Inspiration
Busy Tag  Features a small display and an LED strip
TimerBuzzer

The table just lists a few high-level ideas for potential projects or theses. We want to encourage you to come up with your own idea that you’d enjoy exploring as part of a thesis or master project. It’s usually best if your ideas roughly align with our research interests.

Note that the exact scope, features and implementation can all be discussed. This description is merely as a means to initiate discussion. Please also consider our Guidance on finding Project topics under our supervision.

If you have an idea, feel free to propose it to us.
