Call for Participation: Understanding Sleep’s Role in Daily Productivity
We are inviting software developers to participate in our newest field study exploring the relationship between sleep, software developers’ productivity, and focus.
Procedure
For this study, we will ask you to wear a smartwatch throughout the 6-week study duration and to use a sleep mask during part of the study. The study will require around 10 minutes of time per day for hourly self-reports (on the watch) and the morning as well as end-of-day surveys (online), and an additional max. 75 minutes of onboarding and end-of-week survey and a follow-up interview (online).
Compensation
By participating in this study, you are contributing to an ongoing effort to improve the future of the workplace. In addition, you will:
- get to keep the provided watch and sleep mask after the study (value ~ 250€)
- receive a gift certificate equivalent to the number of tokens earned through completing questionnaires (up to 60€)
- will be entered in a raffle for an additional gift certificate in case of good study adherence (50€)
- will have the chance to learn more about your sleep and perception of focus during work
Data Privacy
A tool installed on your computer collects data about your interaction with the computer, BUT…
- All data remains local on your machine. No data is sent to the cloud automatically.
- After the study, you can review your data before manually uploading it to our secured servers.
- It will automatically obfuscate and randomize any sensitive data.
